BRAKKE TO CONDUCT FIRST VETERINARY PROFESSION INTERNET USAGE SURVEY

(Western Veterinary Conference, Las Vegas – Feb. 20, 2000) – Brakke Consulting, Inc. today announced the company will conduct the first-ever market survey of small animal veterinarians to determine Internet usage and the evolution of e-commerce in the profession. The study is already underway and is expected to be completed by mid-April, 2000.

“The most common questions we’ve been asked by industry in the last few months have revolved around the subject of e-commerce and Internet usage. The abundance of e-commerce options being offered to both pet owners and veterinarians is evident daily, yet there are many unanswered questions. This study will help answer those questions,” said Ronald S. Brakke, president of Brakke Consulting.

The survey will cover such topics as veterinarian Internet access, veterinarian email usage, current online ordering habits, and subscription to veterinary Internet websites. The information will assist animal health companies in determining their e-commerce and online offerings in order to be competitive.

Brakke Consulting will use its proprietary database of several hundred small animal practitioners to conduct the study. The study will be repeated every six months to determine how these new forms of communications are increasing.
